Ø  FINISH EXISTING PROJECTS:

Ø  NEW PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS

·    Hold school administrators and teachers accountable for improved academic outcomes

·    Make necessary changes to Planning and Zoning Regulations based upon Town-approved Plan of Conservation and Development

·    Investigate hiring outside consultant to evaluate land use and building permitting process and recommend strategies for improvement

·    Support revitalized Economic Development Commission initiatives like investigating regional Commercial-industrial business zone on Route 44

·    Support Recreation commission as it develops new programs

·    Investigate ordinances regulating live entertainment that make sense for our community and are compatible with PoCD

·    Emphasize recycling programs to save money and improve the environment

·    Utilize vacated Senior Center for improved office flow or meeting space

·    Investigate sound system to improve acoustics at Town Hall

·    Beautify Willington with signage and foliage – form a committee similar to 275th anniversary committee

 FINISH EXISTING PROJECTS:

Work with the State DOT to repair/replace the Route 74 Bridge over the Willimantic River with the least impact possible.

Work with the Willington Housing Authority to complete the final phase of senior housing

Complete the water system at Hall School

Fund and complete River Road Recreational Fields

Replace the bridge on Kechkes Road over the Fenton River with a cost-effective solution.

Implement good, honest, effective government Hold employees accountable for their performance but manage them in a fair even-handed method and eliminate retaliation and favoritism.

Prudent financial budgeting and planning

Reevaluate and update the Capital Improvement Plan so it is fiscally sound

Install drainage and resurface Turnpike Road.

Install drainage and resurface Village Hill Road. 

Hold school administrators and teachers accountable for improved academic outcomes

Reduce the backlog of small Public Works projects so the Town can better serve its residents.

Make necessary changes to Planning and Zoning Regulations based upon Town-approved Plan of Conservation and Development

Establish a plan for ongoing purchase of new books.

Improve and provide more programming for all ages.

Increase Inter-Library loans.

Improve marketing strategy for library and it's programs.
